French Connection - Zinc Sofa by DFSHow have you been?! Sorry I disappeared again – crazy and exciting times here (that will continue until the end of October at least). I am feeling super lucky today as I can share our latest autumn update for the Tea shed. Kettle on, feet up – we have a sofa in there!French Connection - Zinc Sofa by DFSRetreating from the upside down house is better than ever before. This was made possible by the generous folks over at DFS who gifted me this Zinc French Connection Two Seater Sofa to style and enjoy. It’s a design we have coveted since its launch a couple of years ago – I love that it is made in here in the Uk and has great mid-century features. In zinc grey – the permanent colour trend in our world.French Connection - Zinc Sofa by DFSSpeaking of trends, it was unfortunate that timing was not on my side and I wasn’t able to go along on the trip organised by DFS to Salone del Mobile, Milan’s world-renowned furniture design show. But Alison Hill, Creative Director at DFS shared her take on the top trends to emerge from the show and I think you and I can easily adopt all of them at home ;)Eclectic wall decorEven though the show was way back in the beginning of Summer, I think Autumn is the perfect season to master my three favourite trends. They go hand in hand with cooler evenings and the onset of Halloween and bonfire night. Want to find out what they were?French Connection - Zinc Sofa by DFSSeptember decorCasual – that’s me all over – keeping up with all the crazy and renovating requires a little easy living to take the edge off this hectic freelance life we have chosen!
Cocooning – a lot of that will be happening down here in the shed. We just need a log burner installed and with a pot of spiced cider brewing – I’ll hardly need to go up to the main house.
Comfort – pile up the cushions, throw over a blanket and grab a cuppa – simple as that.
My other favourite trend was ‘Green as the focal point’ – I’d love this beautiful sleek Eden green velvet sofa – but until we magic up some more space – plants will always my green focal point. I don’t want to get you too excited but I also spied a Joules collection arriving in November!French Connection - Zinc Sofa by DFSFrench Connection - Zinc Sofa by DFSFrench Connection - Zinc Sofa by DFSApproval signed off by MarloFrench Connection - Zinc Sofa by DFSSeptember collageThe Zinc sofa comes complete with scatter cushions too, sadly the geometric pattern was not quite blending in down here so I thought I would cover them with a few splashes of understated liberty florals in greys, blues and ochre to keep my vintage heart happy.French Connection - Zinc Sofa by DFSFrench Connection - Zinc Sofa by DFSJust a few neat folds to see how they would look before I get sewing and I love them! :)Tea Shed livingReclaimed wood wallThe grey goes perfectly with our reclaimed wall and we placed it looking out so we can watch all kinds of wildlife – foxes, badgers and squirrels running around outside at dusk.Crate side tableDean made this super easy side table by simply flipping a crate and slotting it over an old table base we had laying around gathering rust! It was the perfect fit, a mini garden miracle and lovely rustic feel.Reclaimed wallThe last few blooms from the front garden are keeping me cheered for a while longer and then it will be full on acorn, chestnut and pine cone gathering! xCrate side tableFrench Connection - Zinc Sofa by DFSThis post is an unpaid brand collaboration with DFS (thanks guys) – they kindly sent us the Zinc 2 Seater Sofa and we did the rest! x
