Hello you, I had a wonderful time at Liberty’s yesterday, finally meeting Holly from Decor8 and catching up with Lynne, Caroline and Karine. It was brilliant to learn how the book Decorate came to be and it was very interesting to hear about the creative process involved, the nicest surprise was to discover how funny Holly can be, making us laugh and bringing the room to life, you know how reserved us Brits can be. (I would hate to have rows of expectant faces peering at me!)

Later on there was a beautiful styling demo with Holly, Sania Pell and Leslie from A creative mint, ribbon garlands adorned with leaves cut from liberty fabrics and dotted with flowers sweeping low over a table dressed with hand made napkin rings that doubled as brooches for your guests to take home and paper note pads decorated simply using Japanese patterned masking tape . Each place setting was set using delicate french crockery, vintage cutlery and linen napkins and place mats. There was a theme of pink, green and grey throughout and an old lampshade stripped and recovered using more liberty lawn cotton tied the whole piece together.  There were so many faces there I recognised from their online pages and the evening was bustling and busy with a creative buzz.

So here’s to meeting new people and making friends, today in dedication to bloggers everywhere lets do some traveling, you can click on each of the banners above to get on the open the road or read on and hit the following links.

Our itinerary includes first stop Arkansas to meet Melissa, then on to Rio de Janeiro to meet Juliana, next up, Rhode Island to meet Laura, Minneapolis to meet Shanon and then finally off to Chicago and Detroit to meet Taryn, each has a lovely blog filled with genuine thoughts, new ideas, inspiring words and as the banners show here, fabulous imagery.

Hello! Wasn’t it a lovely event? I had hoped to run into you and a few of the other bloggers that I regularly read but it was such a bustly event that it was almost impossible to squeeze around without bumping into a shelf and shattering priceless china! Wasn’t Holly sweet? It was the first really bloggy event that I’ve been to and I was really touched by how supportive everyone is. Happy to have gone.

Oh my, you are so sweet for including Lolalina above, Jeska, I am blushing! I wish I could have been at Liberty, I would have loved to see Holly, Leslie, and Sania in person…isn’t it wild when you finally get to meet someone you’ve known only through their blog? Hope you are having a lovely day – now I am off to visit the other pretties you introduced us to, xo Laura

That sounds like a completely divine and beautiful time! I love how perfect the decorations sound.

Oh blogging world! How exciting to find new blogs…especially since these lovely ones you’ve shared are some that I’ve never ever been to before so I’m excited to take a peek at them.
