BIG NIGHT IN – HEALTHY LIVING PARTY

Detox PartyHappy Sunday to you, today I am sharing the fun I had taking part in MoneySupermarket’s Big Night In challenge on Friday evening, with a budget of £50 and my theme of healthy living, this is the party I shared with five friends, one husband, two cats and a bunch of honeycomb pom pom’s.Detox PartyI had the idea of a detox-style party as although we do all enjoy a good night out, staying in really is the new going out for me and most of my friends. With house renovations, demanding jobs, training courses, parenting and unsociable hours running our lives during the week and most weekends, staying healthy and looking after ourselves is becoming top priority, but eating clean and staying fit need not be all hard work and no fun!Detox PartyDetox PartyAs I said, we are all enjoying our workout classes and gym training these days too, so rather than undoing all our hard work I thought, why not invite over some of my favourite people and treat them to some good colourful food and alcohol free drinks. The entertainment came in the form of simple conversation, laughing and catching up with friends who haven’t seen each other in a few weeks.Detox PartyFor the main dishes I made Carrot cakes with carrot hummus and a farmers market broccoli salad both recipes by the lovely Kali from Bird is the word, with olives and mozzarella basil tomato bites on the side.Detox PartyTo drink, this refreshing Cucumber Sangria went down a treat, I just swapped out the honey for Agave Nectar to make it vegan and used alcohol free wine, a perfect zesty drink that I’m sure will become a weekend favourite for me throughout the Summer.Detox PartyDetox PartyDesert was a simple bowl of balsamic strawberries with vegan ice cream and vegan chocolate peanut butter cups made by my friend Judith, no pictures of these as they got demolished before I could whip out my camera, thanks so much for coming to my party, Tamzin, Emma-Li, Judith, Roxanne and Bethan can’t wait for next time!Detox Party

I spent £10.50 on Paper Pom Poms and the other £39.50 on healthy food and drink, not bad for a party of six and a husband polishing off all the left overs!
