Dressing Room DecorWe nearly have a walk in wardrobe! The walls are being painted tonight and I think that both our ideas have been married together successfully -The brief was 1930’s utility style vintage, worn, rustic, manly and a tiny bit pretty in a subtle way. With tons of storage and lots of hanging space. The metal tubes and connectors are ordered for the main clothes hanging frame and now all we need are the finishing touches and some moveable storage. I have sourced a few bits from Fusion Living that will fit in nicely and everything else we need is already in the house, boxed, or hiding in other rooms waiting to find it’s final place in our new life here.

Industrial lighting is something we both love and I wasn’t sure if we should have wall mounted or floor standing lamps? A simple modern console table to sit at for make up, mine not his, although with all his hair products and quaffing he takes up quite a bit of mirror time. I do love a pretty guilt frame – he thinks it’s a step too far but we’ll see. Solid shelving that can be moved around the room and house, if needed elsewhere. The pink ghost chair might have to make way for a beat up old wooden stool, but it does come in a clear gold too and that might fly under the radar, if not we could accommodate it the guest bedroom I’m sure, and a clock is a must, as we are always running late. I am a last minute shower taker, and did I mention that he loves to do his hair? It is good hair.

I can’t wait to put pictures up and re-organise all my clothes and shoes. A good purge is in order to keep it looking tidy, a job for January I think.

Ooh! Do enjoy! I’ve just done my dressing room– we also built clothing rails from pipes and connectors– and I am loooving it! For the first time in my life, I can actually FIND all of my clothes. As a result, I am wearing more of my clothes and feel so much less stressed in the mornings when I am getting ready. Also, having enough space for stuff means that I don’t have to press my clothes as much– they are not all crammed in together, wrinkling each other up!
