There have been so many good surprises happening along the path of us finally starting the adventure of running our own lifestyle store. One of these things is the new friends we have made over on Instagram – it is such a friendly and happy place – one where I recently had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Emma Harris.
A quiet style – Emma’s serene spot on the internet – is the place where she shares a love of interiors, flowers, fashion, art, photography, and her two lovely girls, Elvia and Dottie.
You will also find three regular monthly columns over on A Quiet Style, a floral tutorial, My Favourite Flower where Emma asks a fellow blogger to showcase their favourite bloom (look out for me sharing mine soon), and her new monthly column – A Shared Style. Each month, Emma will invite someone whose style she admires, to share a styled space from their home, whether it be a whole room, a wall or a shelf, in order to give us all a bit of inspiration when it comes to styling our homes. This sounded like just my cup of tea, so I thought it would be lovely to reverse rolls and see what space in Emma’s lovely home she was making the most of at the moment! What styled space from your home have you decided to share?
This is the side of my new cupboard, which I love. After months of looking, I finally found the right cupboard to keep all my bits and bobs in, but what I didn’t realise when I bought it, was that it has a lovely old hook on the side, perfect for hanging bits of greenery from. I have just managed to find a few more botanical book prints to add to my collection, and I think they look perfect next to the eucalyptus.
How would you describe your interiors style?
I absolutely love the modern rustic style, and that is what I aspire to achieve in our home, at the moment though I would say it is more eclectic, we have a number of vintage pieces mixed in with a modern kitchen, and other fairly modern fittings, I am however, in the process of paring it back a bit more.Do you have any tips for styling your home?
Wherever possible, only include things you love when you are styling a space, that way it should hopefully have some cohesion. Personally, I don’t like clutter, but if it is done right, I have seen some beautiful busy spaces.
Anyone whose interior style you admire?
I love the styling of Hans Blomquist, he is the master of moody styling, and Mark and Sally Bailey, do modern rustic brilliantly! Thanks so much for sharing your beautifully styled space with me today, Emma. I too have been searching for the perfect cupboard to hide all my craft materials inside. Wish me luck, as the search continues!
