SUGARY FOOTPRINTS

Thank you for all the kitten love. A weekend of baking cakes for a friend in a whirlwind of powder fine icing sugar combined with the excitement of our little girls arriving left the kitchen floor covered in tiny sugary footprints. Not phased by the loud whir of the electric whisk they skittered from room to room with their string ball and cloth mouse. A new mop is now top priority on the shopping list!

We didn’t even know how quickly we would fall head over heels in love with them and have finally decided to call the little mischief makers Wallace (white bib and mittens) and Marlo (stripy).

Great names and beautiful photos! Did you name them after characters in The Wire by any chance?

    • Jeska

Marlo yes lol, Wallace was named after Wallace Simpson but as it’s also a character from the wire that’s good, they were found running wild in the streets after all :)

Hi Wallace and Marlo you are 2 beautiful kitties and you have to be cute and not try to eat all those delicious cupcakes :)
My kitty used to also make footprints… but of paint while I was painting, I used to think that he would do that on purpose because it was immediate, he wouldn’t let me alone or do something that didn’t included him …. that was really annoying… but so cute!!!!
Jes you have to give us the recipe for baking those cupcakes, they look amazing!!!

    • Jeska

Oh how I would love a collection of tiny painted foot prints, just to remember how tiny their feet were, Marlo just loves to get under the linen cover on the sofa and sleep underneath it. I love watching the rise and fall of her little tummy on the seat next to me.

      PS Recipe to follow x

Congratulations! Ours STILL get into everything (and I still find it endearing) and they are nearly 2 years old! Those two little girls are LOVELY!

As a sewist, please be careful of any threads or ribbons– kittens eat everything and ribbons and threads can be fatal to them. Our dear little man ate about a yard of delicate, narrow organza ribbon (very fine and delicate) when he was not quite 5 months old. He is fine, but the surgery was outrageously expensive and dangerous and we are very lucky he’s still here. I tell you not to scare you, but to save you and the kittens heartache.

Enjoy them! They truly are the most hilarious room-mates you can ever have! :)

    • Jeska

Will definitely be keeping their nosy whiskers out of the sewing room for mine and their sakes! I am glad to hear your little one is doing fine.

    • Jeska

    I love the names :-)
Kittens are without doubt the most gorgeous of all baby animals – but maybe I’m biased ;-)
It’s lovely to read of all the fun you’re having with them. They’ll wreck the house but you’ll always love them anyway!
    Happy days to you,
    D xx
