Happy Friday! I am just taking a break from purging even more possessions from our home – to share another beautiful book with you. Spring is in the air – let’s make things with The Maker by Tamara Maynes! This book is filled with inspiration, projects and advice. Bringing raw materials to life and encouraging you to create ‘an original space that bears your unique fingerprint’.
Reading The Maker you’ll discover if you fall into any of these maker categories – Modernist, Naturalist or a Revivalist – maybe like me you are a crazy cocktail of all three?! The book and its motto – ‘What can I craft with my own hands that will make my space special?’ – is an ode to makers and making of all kinds. Packed with beautiful imagery, projects and the beautiful work and words of over forty crafts people.
Covering a history of making through to projects specially designed for the book, and detailed information about all the raw materials you will come across on your making travels – the pages will inform, inspire and encourage you to fill your space serenely and subtly with hand-made objects. The perfect way to spend a weekend if you ask me :)
The items showcased in each section with photography by Eve Wilson are exquisite, just look at this chair, I would love that to live in our home?!!
I am quite in love with this handpainted linen curtain below and now need to make one asap.
Are you in the mood for creating this weekend now? I have a very long list of things that I would love to make for our place, so I better get a head start. Have a great couple of days, sending you all the sunshine vibes. All images from The Maker by Tamara Maynes (Murdoch Books, £18.99). Photography by Eve Wilson.

Yay, it’s so much fun! :)
Oh I love the sound of this book! Such a fascinating approach, and the images are stunning. Thanks for sharing! x
It’s such a beauty Abi x
Looks gorgeous – am loving that shade of green.
Isn’t it great! :)
That bed.. You just want to hold that white blanket and live with it forever. It looks so comfy and amazing. Liked the curtains as well. Some good ideas for home decor and sharing the source. Gonna have to look for something similar in my country as well.
