Morning! The last few days have just run away with me, I was meant to post yesterday but have been up to my eyeballs in an embroidery project (more on that when I have something concrete to show you). I am kicking off the new week with some interior decorating joy. Thursday was a super fun (very hot) day in London, I dragged the husband all over – but it wasn’t really a chore as our first call was the beautiful Joss and Main UK housewarming event on a pretty leafy street in the most stunning house. In just twelve hours they transformed the place into the loveliest show home I have ever walked into. Crisp white walls set off a beautifully curated gathering of products from Joss and Mains current collections, each room had a theme from the industrial kitchen you see here (top) to the mid century modern inspired living room and hallway. Some vintage items were included but you can pick up similar things in the sales that happen every day on their site. I especially liked the handmade touches like indigo dyed pillows and this stunning dip dyed headboard below. The dyed linen headboard was made by one of the stylists that put the rooms together, I will definitely try this out to give our bed a different look for the winter months. This lovely trio of glass vases (below) were in the collection I curated last month as was the copper bedside lamp seen here, it was great to see the products up close and in a real life setting, the designers and stylist did such a great job. What an inspiring company to work for, especially when events like this are happening! The bathroom and garden were where the colours really started to shine. In the bathroom, fruity bright towels and prints were teamed with neons and patterns. Floral, ethnic inspired fabrics and layering with jewel bright patchwork and hand painted table ware were piled up abundantly in the seating areas of the garden, and a palm reader was talking in hushed tones under the shade of a tree. As lovely as she was, I gave her a wide berth as I feel quite uneasy about palm reading! Before it was time to go, we had an exquisitely made cocktail in the sunshine, then went inside and talked upcoming trends with Executive creative director – Christiane Lemieux. When it was time to leave we stepped out in to the 30˚ heat, for some very hot and crowded tube rides across the capital and back to meet a friend for lunch. Thanks for the inspiring morning J&M team!
