Happy Monday, lovely people. We have been away shooting photos for a book (exciting)! I can’t share anything yet, but I snapped these over the last three days to share here. Nothing to do with the project, they are just a few favourite picture postcards from the weekend.
It seems I am just as fascinated with other people’s plants as my own, and I fell in love with this lean-to full of seedlings. It has green stalks and sprigs in glass jars, bottles and pots all along the window sills – it gives my green heart, palpitations as well as ideas for building something along these lines down the side of our house. Liz’s garden is my newest, real green space crush.
We were visited by my favourite cat (that is not one of our own) Malcolm again. He is such a beauty isn’t he. A little skittish and a lot mischievous – I look forward to his visits when we meet up with our friends. I can’t stop chasing him around with my camera.
Camelias heavily laden with their last bright cerise rosettes were putting on a final show before they drop and fall.
Another new cat friend – this is Victor. He likes to be cradled like a baby and ride around on people’s shoulders. His perfect silver blue coat is quite, quite beautiful.
Gardens are coming alive everywhere and this garden is a new favourite place for me to visit. I have enjoyed seeing it in winter and now as it wakes up for spring. Summer is going to be pure magic. I do hope I manage to get back and see it.
A few miles away on a woodland walk, we found ourselves back surrounded by winter colour. The trees are getting ready to burst into green – but not quite yet, cinnamon coloured leaves and pale winter grasses covered the ground in every direction.
A book! How exciting! Looking forward to finding out more. These are lovely pictures and it looks like spring is very slowly on its way :-)

PS such sweet cats! The stray cats that sneak into our garden, rummage in our pots or catch the birds are not as pretty as this! You’re a lucky duck! Have a lovely week xxx
