I don’t often talk about things like this, but I had a horrible morning. One of my little tigers got her head caught in the throw on the sofa, she was so scared and scratched me to bits when I tried to help her, I was so afraid and felt so helpless, I ran for some scissors and when I got back (only seconds) she was sitting quite still and let me cut her free. Bless her tiny little bones.
Not long after, she was running about and playing, whilst I was the one left shaking. I love them both so much, more than I thought possible, and it would break my heart if anything happened to either of them.

Drama over, deep breath. I wish you all a wonderful weekend.

Ouf, that is nasty. I have two cats who I adore too, they loved paper carrier bags when they were young, but I forgot to take the handles off one and he got it caught round his middle. We got him out, but oh so painful to watch. Glad your tiger is ok.

Thank you Rebecca, ours love paper bags too I just chucked one away yesterday, they are such mischievous little things, getting into everything. Lucky I don’t take my eyes of them for a minute, this is worse than baby proofing!

oh my … the worst scrape our kitten got up to was climbing up a folded ironing board propped up against the wall waiting to be put away. She clambered up the cover side digging her claws in as she went and the whole thing toppled back like a Tom & Jerry cartoon. Slam. I was terrified to pick it up – half expecting to find a flat cat stuck to it, but she was all big eyes (and no doubt seeing stars) and racing heart. We of course, were in bits.
She grew up to be an old lady cat of 16 years – I still miss her very much :(

Hi E, Oh dear! they do seem quite resilient, crazy things they make me laugh out loud every day, when they aren’t scaring me to tears!

When our cat was a baby we bought a cat toy that was like a fishing rod with a toy fish on elastic and our little kitty managed to get it caught round her neck and the harder she pulled, the tighter it became. Luckily we spotted it in time but it was so scary.

yep Liz, we had one of those too I chucked it! They are happy enough with a rolled up ball of paper or playing tag round the lounge :)

Your kittens are so cute! I’ve just moved into a new apartment where cats are technically not allowed, but the landlord has already let 2 others have cats so I am hopeful that soon I can get my own bundles of fluff. I grew up with cats but for the last 8 years have not had any of my own, so I am getting very impatient for some!

Oh, I’m so sorry you (and she!) had to go through that! I am glad everyone is well, though.

I was thinking today about how much I love our two. Our Old Men both died within the same year, and we loved them more than I can ever say– they were the most amazing fellas and I lost part of my soul when each one went.

We got our new “Team” shortly before my the eldest one, Oblio (my “soul kitty”) died– to keep him company after the sudden loss of his brother, Zen. I love these two kittens so very much and, when one of them ate some ribbon and had to have surgery, I thought I would go mad from the worry and fear.

Having kittens is the most wonderful, worrying thing ever! Everything is a hazard– the sofa throw! Who knew it could be dangerous?! Hang in there — they are both so gorgeous and lucky to have you to look after them and to love them.

Oh, your kittens are so sweet! I’m glad he’s ok. My parents used to have a brother and sister pair of cats, they are so mischievous! Sadly, Oliver got lost last fall. Thankfully, they’ve gotten a new kitten to hang out with Willow, named Wyatt. He is my favorite kitty ever, I think. They both are. Cats are so sweet!

Your reaction is completely understandable. I would have been just as shaken. Good thing you didn’t have to try to cut her free. And yes, it’s amazing how quickly they forget and just go back to playing.

    Hi Jeska
Thanks so much for sharing this post and your momentarily agony (thank goodness it was short-lived!). It so reminded me of why I always try and remember to put any stringy items away when the cats are on their own. I once volounteered in a cat sanctuary and we were always told to put such toys away at night because one young cat once hung itself (yes, just horrible) whilst playing with a string toy. It was sadly only discovered when someone came to open the sanctuary the next morning and made the dreadful discovery. One just has got to be so careful with such playful and excitable little beauties.
    Yours are just gorgeous!

We love our boys so much – I even got a mothers day card from them! Our eldest Milo swallowed a detachable bra stap in his early months…it was touch and go for a couple days and now I’ve almost a sixth sense about anything they could swallow or chew…

These darling little fur babies are sure to bring out your most animalistic instinct to protect…and in return, you’ll get the most incredible level of unconditional love. Happy Mothers Day! xx

Glad they are okay, and sorry to hear about that. They look so peaceful in those photos, and love that you can’t tell where one ends and the other begins in the first photo.
