Autumn is in full swing, well, actually it is almost over! It started slowly and what a beautiful couple of months we have had. This November Styling the Seasons is all about having fun, experimenting with flat lay. So, Katy and Charlotte have teamed up with Emily Quinton and Ruth Garner. Their favourite image from the month will win a place on one of Emily’s Makelight courses. Join in by tagging your flat lay images #STSxMakelight over on IG, and the winner will be announced on November 30th! x
For my photo, I found these beautiful Asian pears and knew that I had to include them in my November Styling the Seasons story, I am in love with their pale beauty. Throw in some Kentish cobnuts (have you any idea what we do with these?!), woolen pompoms, fallen leaves and some berries, and you have a table full of seasonal chaos, which took me quite a while to create something I was happy with. Not so easy this flat lay malarky.
After some digging, I located this postcard by the lovely Karolin Schnoor and knew it had just the right feeling and colour. This little lady drawing her coat up around her neck, to deflect a wintery breeze, fits right into an autumn scene, don’t you think? She reminds me a little of myself chilly self, dashing around the November streets with her topknot ;)
I had so much fun messing around with the layout and loved gathering all these autumnal elements together in one place, the beautiful leaves were left over from a printing workshop I attended last week with Lynne and Zeena at the amazing Town Hall Hotel. Somehow these London leaves are way better than any I have found around here?!
Fancy joining in? To win a place on one of Emily Quinton’s workshops in her Makelight London studio or on one of her online courses. Share your November styling in a blog post or with a picture of it on Instagram and use the hashtag #STSxMakelight so it can be found. Entries are open until November 29th. The winner will be announced on November 30th over at Katy and Charlotte’s blogs.
